Idaho recently became the 37th state to ban all motorists from texting while driving. Idaho Gov. Butch Otter on signed the bill on April 5 that institutes an $85 fine against violators starting July 1.

In Alaska, similar legislation awaits Gov. Sean Parnell’s signature. Parnell received the bill Wednesday, April 18, and is expected to sign it into law. The state’s ban carries a maximum penalty of $5,000 and one year in jail.
