FleetPride Inc., a retailer of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, announced that it has acquired the assets of Westpac Heavy Duty Inc. dba C.W. Carter Co. of Phoenix and Westpac Heavy Duty of California, located in Mira Loma, Calif. This brings the total number of FleetPride locations to four in Arizona and 22 in California.

Employment offers have been extended to all employees of both entities. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

“Under Charlie Weston’s leadership, Westpac Heavy Duty became an even stronger organization with experienced employees who are well-known for the relationships they have with their customer base,” says Lee Stockseth, president and chief operating officer of FleetPride, based in The Woodlands, Texas. “Adding this momentum and market presence to our existing branches in Phoenix, Mesa and Tucson will make FleetPride an even stronger distributor. By further extending our asset footprint in Southern California, we are better able to serve FleetPride and Westpac Heavy Duty customers in the Inland Empire. This is an extremely dense market for the heavy-duty trucking industry, with a very diverse customer base for us.”

“This acquisition will further strengthen our capabilities, expand our customer base and position FleetPride for ongoing growth as we work to meet the needs of heavy-duty fleet operators and owners,” says W.M. McGee, chairman and chief executive officer of FleetPride. “We continue to develop strategic alliances with successful distributors/owners in the industry when it is beneficial to both parties.”
