Hub Group on Wednesday, Aug. 1, broke ground on a 130,000-square-foot headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill. The four-story office building planned for LEED-Gold certification is scheduled for completion in late 2013. The company, a provider of intermodal, truck brokerage and logistics services, is relocating its headquarters with more than 500 employees from nearby Downers Grove.
“This is an important moment in our company’s 41-year history,” said David Yeager, chairman and chief executive officer. “We have experienced tremendous growth and are positioning ourselves for the future with our new headquarters in Oak Brook.”
The 17-acre site, located in the Interstate 88 Tech Corridor at 2000 Clearwater Drive in Oak Brook, will feature natural habitat landscaping, ponds and walking trails. “The new building exemplifies our commitment to sustainability with features including high-efficiency HVAC, energy-efficient lighting controls and stormwater harvesting,” Yeager said.
