Eaton Corp. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, announced that its previously announced $11.8 billion acquisition of Ireland-based Cooper Industries has received clearance from South Korea’s Korean Fair Trade Commission and the Turkish Competition Authority.

Eaton said receipt of these clearances satisfies a condition to the closing of the transaction, which remains subject to other customary closing conditions, including, among others, additional regulatory clearances and approval by the shareholders of both Eaton and Cooper.
