Mack debuts mRide for TerraPro at Waste Expo

Updated May 22, 2013

Mack Trucks introduced the Mack mRide spring suspension for the MACK TerraPro refuse model during Waste Expo 2013.
Mack says the mRIDE spring suspension, now available with proprietary MACK axles, delivers increased stability and a smoother ride. The mRIDE is a six-rod spring suspension with Mack ductile iron axle housings and Mack C150/151 series axle carriers.

“The extremely stable Mack mRide has real benefits for the refuse market, such as a high driveline position and excellent traction,” said Curtis Dorwart, Mack vocational marketing product manager. “The mRide is also virtually maintenance free. Refuse operations, whether they’re municipalities or service providers, require their trucks to be day-in and day-out workhorses, and the mRIDE-equipped Mack TerraPro is an asset that will boost their operations.”

Mack says the mRide spring suspension creates superior comfort, performance and return on investment for refuse customers. The mRIDE’s spring leaf design and V-shaped torque rods ensure stability by efficiently transmitting forces into the truck’s frame. Shock absorbers in combination with rubber and steel shock towers also improve ride and handling.
Lighter than camelback spring suspensions, the Mack mRIDE allows refuse customers to haul heavier loads with more even weight distribution. The suspension’s superior articulation and constant ground contact for all wheels maximizes traction and makes navigating in and out of landfills or other rugged sites easier.

The parallel pinion angles of the Mack axles extend driveline joint life. When paired with the lube-free mRide suspension, the axle and suspension package delivers easier maintenance, alignment and lower operating cost.

The mRide is also available on the Mack Granite, Titan and Pinnacle Axle Forward models.
