Crete Carrier Corporation (No. 21 in the CCJ Top 250)  has been named the 2014 Most Valuable Employer for Military by CivilianJobs.com for the third year in a row.

The MVE awards help veterans and military-experienced job seekers and find employers for their civilian careers.

Nearly 30 percent of Crete’s employees have prior military experience, the carrier says, and the company has a training program designed to help former members of the military to transition into a different profession.

Crete also has its Patriot Fleet, made up of five International ProStar tractors with military-themed graphics. The carrier chooses drivers with military experience each year to drive the trucks in its Patriot Fleet.

The Patriot Fleet also earned Crete CCJ Innovator honors. Click here to read CCJ‘s coverage of the fleet from last year.

The Most Valuable Employer award is open to all companies based in the U.S. and, and the military category measures entrants on recruiting, training and retention relative to the interest of those who served in the military.

“We’re very excited to win this prestigious award for the third year in a row. Being recognized as a most valuable employer by an organization that serves military members is a terrific honor for all of us at Crete Carrier Corporation,” says Tonn Ostergard, President and CEO at Crete. “We have gained valuable associates whose experience and core competencies directly align with our business. The cornerstone of our success is our employee training programs, which are designed to train and transition military individuals into a profession that will allow them to have a successful career and provide for their families.”
