Chart Industries, Inc.announced Tuesday at the Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Long Beach, Calif. the release of a new, more compact liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicle system.

The length of the new vehicle fuel tank system is about 4.5 percent shorter for the 2015 model year and is available in 26-inch diameter horizontal vehicle tanks.

“Chart is committed to incremental improvements, as LNG continues to be adopted by the heavy duty trucking industry, due to significant space, weight and fill speed advantages,” says Peter Murray, General Manager – LNG Vehicle Fueling Products.

In addition to a smaller external size with the same internal capacity, the price will be slightly lower as well, Chart says.
