Carrier Logistics Inc. (CLI) and Acordex announced a partnership whereby Acordex’s mobile dispatch application has been fully integrated with CLI’s FACTS transportation management system.
“In our efforts to increase benefits to our customers, we constantly seek best-in-breed partners,” Ken Weinberg, CLI vice president, said. “Acordex is such a company.”
Two trucking companies, Land Air New England of Williston, Vt., and Double D Express of Peru, Ill., have adopted tablets with Acordex software that connects each driver minute by minute with dispatchers, terminals, and the home office.
When making pickups and deliveries, drivers can use mobile devices to provide full documentation of delivery status, freight being picked up, vehicle inspection reports, mileage reports, driver productivity, photo management and more.
When last-minute stops are needed, the system can divert drivers in an instant to expedite customer service. The app meets drivers’ needs for varying stop types, trailer switching, non-standard pickups, and tracking high-value or dangerous shipments.
For example, if a carrier needs a photo of a damaged shipment, the driver merely points and shoots. The mobile unit records the exact location, the equipment in use, the driver, the pro number for the shipment and automatically sends the photo to the server that will manage the photo. Safety and OS&D staff have instant access to the photos.
“We selected Acordex because we had a good experience with their imaging product,” said Tim Robey, an operations manager at Double D. “The mobile units we got are easy for drivers to use at a customer location for pick-ups and deliveries.”
“We are very pleased with our enhanced mobile communications platform,” said Dave Bush, director of business processes for Land Air. “The partnership between Acordex and CLI has once again helped us to increase efficiency while giving our operators more functionality.”
