Fifty drivers at FedEx Freight’s Stockton, Calif., terminal will now fall under the union’s representation following a 33-12 vote in favor of joining the Teamsters. It was the union’s first win at the carrier in its last seven tries, having lost votes or withdrawn elections at seven other terminals prior.

The Teamsters announced last year it was setting its sights on Fedex, the second largest carrier in the country.

Three other terminals have voted to join the union since the campaign began.

FedEx says the most recent vote only affects the Stockton workers.

The union also has pursued drivers at Con-way (No. 5 in the CCJ Top 250) in recent months. It has split the vote there, with some terminals electing to join the union and others so rejecting it.
