California seeks carrier input on freight plan

Updated Sep 21, 2015

californiaThe California Air Resources Board will host a webinar to discuss developing the state’s Sustainable Freight Strategy plan and receive feedback on it.

Last July, Gov. Jerry Brown issued an executive order to create the plan in response to guidance provided in the 2012 federal surface transportation authorization. Brown’s order calls for an integrated freight action plan by July 2016.

The plan’s goals are to improve freight efficiency, transition to zero-emission technologies and make California’s freight system more competitive. The strategy will also identify state policies programs, and investments that could achieve these goals.

The meeting will be offered as a webinar only 11 a.m. to noon PDT on Oct. 1. More information is available at www.arb.ca.gov.
