benlee-scrap-haulerRoll-off trailer company BENLEE has acquired the assets of Huge Haul, a manufacturer of roll-off hoists and load luggers, in an all cash deal.

Huge Haul Lugger Trucks were designed by Brooks Equipment in the 1930’s and became part of the Ingersoll division of BorgWarner until 1960 when Heil purchased the Load Lugger division. Huge Haul purchased the division from Heil in 1991.

“Lugger Trucks have been used in scrap yards for the scrap metal and recycling industries for decades,” Greg Brown, president and CEO of BENLEE. “We currently run Huge Haul Lugger Trucks at our North Carolina wholly owned, Raleigh Metal Recycling and Goldsboro Metal Recycling operations.”

The lugger hoist manufacturing will be moved to Romulus, Michigan and built along with other BENLEE roll off trailers and trucks.  BENLEE’s on line parts store will soon have a Load Lugger Truck and trailer parts department, so lugger body parts can be purchased 24/7 over the web, Brown adds.
