This week, motor carrier officers in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio will turn their attention to the I-94 corridor and other major highways for “Eyes on 94,” an enforcement effort targeting commercial trucks.
From Dec. 5-9, Michigan State Police, Indiana State Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol motor carrier enforcement will focus on violations most likely to contribute to a crash, including speeding, following too closely, improper passing, distracted driving and improper lane use.
For Michigan, “Eyes on 94” is part of the state’s “Toward Zero Deaths” traffic safety campaign aimed at reducing the number of traffic deaths in the state.
“This coordinated operation is an effort to increase awareness by means of high visibility enforcement on the I-94 corridor, which is prone to weather-related crashes this time of year,” says Capt. Michael Krumm, commander of the MSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
