Denso, at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week in Las Vegas Tuesday, announced an addition to its PowerEdge heavy-duty replacement parts lineup.
The company has partnered with Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc., (CDTi) to introduce a new line of aftermarket emission control products under the the company’s PowerEdge brand.
“This is a growing marketplace in heavy-duty,” says Joseph Mejaly, Denso senior vice president of sales, who also notes many early model trucks are now entering their rebuild cycles.
The all-makes replacement parts are currently available and Mejaly says they feature 60 DPF part numbers covering more than 260 OE-quality products and seven Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC) part numbers for heavy duty on and off-road trucks and equipment. The companies plan to expand the line with an additional 20 DPF and 15 DOC part numbers later this year.
Denso says PowerEdge after treatment replacement DPFs and DOCs meet or exceed emissions requirements on 2007 model year and newer trucks, adding the EPA and CARB have verified CDTi technology.
High-grade stainless steel canisters are engineered to minimize backpressure and patented advanced coatings help boot catalyzation and regeneration efficiency.
An “exact fit” design includes gaskets to meet specific application needs, reduce part numbers and streamline installation.
The units are backed by a two-year unlimited mileage warranty.
“Every component that leaves our factories has been designed with precision, built to OE standards, and subjected to rigorous safety and performance tests,” Mejaly says.
Deno’s launch of its PowerEdge line is part of an overall corporate strategy to raise its profile in the heavy duty replacement parts segment.
“We think we’re going to be a player here,” Mejaly says, adding Denso will grow its team of manufacture reps from five to 35 in the months ahead.
Denso also announced Tuesday the release of its 2017 Commercial and Heavy Duty Starter and Alternator Catalog.
The book features 951 part numbers with applications for 18,000 heavy duty trucks – a 17 percent increase in parts numbers and 57 percent increase in applications.
For the first time, the catalog is available online.
“The electronic commerce is not just for parts any more,” he says, “it’s to be able to link into your CRM tool so they have direct access through chats to our sales organization or headquarters.”
