A specially adorned Kenworth T680 hauled the Capitol Christmas Tree from Montana to Washington, D.C.The Truckload Carriers Association was recognized with a 2017 Capitol Christmas Tree Appreciation Award following the delivery of the tree to Washington, D.C. on Nov. 27.
The award was presented by non-profit organization Choose Outdoors, which oversees the Capitol Christmas Tree project.
TCA helps facilitate “whistle stops” hosted by its member companies at points along the tree’s route to D.C. This year, the tree made stops in Grand Forks, N.D., hosted by Britton Transport and Kansas City, Mo., hosted by Meritor and MHC Kenworth.
The tree was hauled by Larry Spiekermeier with Whitewood Transport of Billings, Montana, in a nearly 100-foot trailer wrapped in banners displaying thousands of signatures from throughout the tree’s trek.
