Omnitracs is the first large fleet commercial telematics service provider to align with Verisk on insurance data analytics services. The partnership, Omnitracs says, will bring its customers additional opportunities to create operational efficiencies and maximize savings.

“This alliance is a compelling blend of our decades of experience with safety and predictive analytics as well as Verisk’s leading insurance-focused data analytics,” notes Brad Taylor, vice president of data and IoT for Omnitracs.

Omnitracs customers can opt-in to transfer fleet driving data, collected by the Omnitracs telematics platform, into the Verisk Data Exchange. The Verisk platform is designed to help commercial insurers better manage risk. It also helps fleet operators to analyze their safety and operational costs, the companies announced.

Fleets that use Omnitracs technology with the Verisk Data Exchange will also gain access to fleet insurance services and operational safety feedback through the analytics they may choose to make available to insurers.

“We’re excited to expand our telematics-based insurance services to Omnitracs customers and help the insurance industry address the challenging commercial risk segment through innovative tools and solutions,” said Saurabh Khemka, senior vice president and general manager, Verisk IoT/Telematics.
