FourKites, a predictive supply chain visibility provider, announced a new product that gives companies real-time visibility across their network, including freight that is managed by vendors.
The new Network Visibility product lets shippers see real-time location updates on their vendor-managed inbound and customer-pickup outbound freight, in addition to the managed freight they already track with FourKites. With full visibility, the company says that shippers are able to improve warehouse operations, reduce yard congestion, and improve carrier and driver productivity.
One of the early users of Network Visibility is Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated.
“We are constantly striving to create efficiencies in our supply chain, especially when it comes to knowing exactly when we can expect products to arrive from our vendors into our distribution network,” said Brett Frankenberg, the company’s vice president of supply chain planning and inventory management. “The ability to track SKU-level details across both managed and unmanaged freight with FourKites’ Network Visibility has enhanced our warehouse and labor productivity significantly.”
FourKites says the product makes it easy to share freight visibility in a controlled environment between select suppliers and receivers through a single dashboard.
“This is a significant breakthrough that eliminates blind spots for most shippers, allowing them to track unmanaged freight with the same level of detail with which they have been tracking managed freight,” said Mathew Elenjickal, chief executive of FourKites. “The average FourKites customer ships a significant portion of their freight to other FourKites customers. Now, they can quickly and easily collaborate through a single visibility platform to achieve significant operational efficiencies.”
Since launching in 2014, FourKites is doing business with more than 260 of the world’s top shippers, including 18 of the top-20 food and beverage companies and four of the top-five consumer packaged goods companies. FourKites currently tracks more than 500,000 shipments every day.
