Omnitracs, a provider of fleet management systems to transportation and logistics companies, announced a technology partnership with SkyBitz, a market leader in IoT telematics for trailer assets.

Through the partnership, Omnitracs and SkyBitz say their customers will have integration to expedite the development of analytics and automation for fleet management.

“The Omnitracs partnership supports our mission of providing customers with end-to-end fleet and asset management solutions, increasing visibility from inside the cab through to the trailer, enabling commercial fleets to make decisions that positively impact their bottom line,” said Henry Popplewell, president of SkyBitz.

The companies also say their customers will benefit from:

  • Communication between in-cab and trailer telematics devices to provide drivers and back-office personnel immediate verification of tractor-trailer connections
  • A compilation of integrated driver, vehicle, and asset management tool

SkyBitz also announced a new volumetric cargo sensor and camera product that gives fleet customers accurate data on the capacity filled or remaining in their trailers as well as images of the cargo inside.

“Through this partnership with SkyBitz, Omnitracs is furthering its commitment to working with industry-leading partners to provide paramount solutions to our customers and the market at large,” said Ray Greer, chief executive officer at Omnitracs. “The integration with SkyBitz not only significantly advances the trailer tracking capabilities for customers but also allows us to continue to focus on the open platform strategy of Omnitracs One and the consolidation of data within the platform across applications.”
