Load One (CCJ Top 250, No. 159) has acquired Millbury, Ohio-based Tri-State Expedited Service. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition boosts Taylor, Michigan-based Load One's capacity and "positions Load One to better serve our customers, owner-operators, carrier partners, and company drivers nationwide," said Load One CEO Jack Donnell. "Tri-State’s exceptional brand and long-standing history will further reinforce our position as a North American leader in ground expedited transportation and logistics.”

Founded in 1978, Tri-State, with more than 120 company trucks and fleet of owner operators, offers ground expediting service, flatbed, truckload, specialized and LTL services to 48 contiguous states and Canadian provinces, and air charter and cargo service worldwide.

“We are thrilled to join the Load One platform," said Tri-State CEO Korey Walper, adding that Load One represents "an ideal fit" for Tri-State. "Having known and respected the Load One team for many years, we recognize their dedication to fulfilling critical shipping needs through top-tier service," he said. "I have full confidence that Load One will be an outstanding steward of the reputation Tri-State has built over 40+ years, and I know our customers, employees, and drivers are in great hands.”

Load One is in growth mode dating back to at least last year, having opened a state-of-the-art facility in Laredo on the U.S.-Mexico border. The sprawling 15,000 square foot space was designed for optimal logistics operations and to accommodate a diverse range of truck types, including smaller vehicles, ensuring flexibility in transportation.
