Danish global transport and logistics company DSV has sold USA Truck to private, Arkansas-based owners, bringing one of the region’s most recognizable logistics names back home.
New ownership
On Friday, DSV finalized an agreement to sell 100% of the shares in USA Truck and its subsidiaries to UTAC, LLC, a private entity formed by industry veterans with deep ties to the carrier’s history. UTAC, LLC is owned by three principals:
- George Henry: Current and ongoing Chief Executive Officer. Henry will remain actively engaged in the daily leadership of the business as CEO.
- Zachary King: Former USA Truck CFO. King will support the transition of the business as acting CFO.
- James Reed: Former USA Truck CEO; Chairman of Kodiak Robotics & Loram; and Operating Partner at Banner Capital. Reed will support Henry and the business in an advisory capacity.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Strategic transition
The acquisition marks a full-circle moment for the 42-year-old carrier. Under the new banner, "USA Truck: Back and Built to Last," the company pivots from global corporate ownership to re-embrace its identity as a U.S.-based carrier.
Then CCJ's No. 68 for fire carrier, USA Truck was acquired by DB Schenker in June 2022 for approximately $435 million, and DB Schenker was subsequently acquired by DSV in April 2025. Prior to its own acquisition, DB Schenker had been shopping USA Truck, and DSV decided to divest the asset almost immediately.
"USA Truck will be well positioned for future growth under the new ownership, where its business model and legacy strengths can be fully leveraged," DSV said via release.
Henry noted that while the global experience was invaluable, the return to local ownership provides a strategic advantage.
"The extensive knowledge and global supply chain insights gained under two of the world's leading freight forwarders are now a permanent part of our operational DNA. We are excited to have USA Truck return to U.S.-based ownership in the great state of Arkansas, where our legacy first laid out roots," he said. "We will continue the four-decade legacy built by our founder, a U.S. Naval Aviator, now fortified by unparalleled global expertise and market solidification. To our phenomenal employees and customers, who have been steadfast partners throughout this journey, I am eternally indebted. Welcome home, USA Truck!”
