Jump Technologies announced a new route optimization solution built specifically for independent office supply dealers. Route optimization is now available for the JumpTrack cloud-based, proof-of-delivery (POD) system that transforms an unordered list of stops into an optimized delivery sequence.
According to the National Private Truck Council (NPTC), it costs $3.00 per mile to operate a delivery vehicle. Jump Technologies CEO and Chief Technologist John Freund said, “Helping our customers conserve miles driven through economical routing and scheduling has a big pay-off for fleets of all sizes. Saving just 10 miles per day adds up to $600 per month per truck. Plus, running the most efficient routes possible improves customer service by getting deliveries to customers faster and on-time.”
JumpTrack Optimization allows users to program schedule parameters for each driver such as lunch and restricted delivery times for particular customers. Another feature automatically sends an email notification to a customer when their delivery is completed and includes a link to the website to view delivery details. Route optimization is an add-on feature to JumpTrack and costs $55 per month for each route that is optimized.
JumpTrack says it is saving customers thousands of dollars in paper and labor costs associated with paper-based delivery systems and expediting invoice payment by putting proof-of-delivery information at customers’ fingertips. The technology also reduces delivery errors, improves customer service, and provides greater control over and insight into their delivery and logistics operations, the company says.
The easy-to-use interface and quick installation on wireless devices that drivers commonly carry help to eliminate training and hardware costs.
JumpTrack Optimization is currently available on Android and will be available for iPhone and iPad by May 1, 2014.
