Tuesday, at the Technology and Maintenance Council's 2022 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition in Orlando, Clarience Technologies announced it has formed a technology alliance with Meritor on the development of connectivity solutions for commercial trucks and trailers.

As part of the partnership, Meritor will join the Road Ready advanced trailer telematics LogIQ smart partner network, making its smart component data accessible directly through the Road Ready system. Road Ready is a vertically integrated advanced telematics and smart fleet solutions SaaS provider.

“Road Ready’s open, partner-focused approach will complement our drive to incorporate further sensing technologies into our products,” said Saad Malik, Meritor general manager, Front Drivetrain and Trailer. “We believe this alliance will lead to new solutions that propel the industry into its next chapter.”

Nada Jiddou, Clarience Technologies executive vice president, said that as electric, autonomous and connected technologies will transform the transportation industry "faster than anything we’ve seen before."

As smarter, more connected technologies are introduced into the transportation industry, commercial fleets now have access to many new data sources that, when analyzed, can bring significant efficiencies into their operations.

With Meritor’s collaboration, Jiddou said fleets can look forward to the introduction of sensing technologies to help better manage braking, wheel-end and tire systems.

Meritor joins 10 other LogIQ partners, including Right Weigh, Inc.; Air-Weigh; P.S.I.; Hendrickson; Continental; ConMet Digital; SKF; SAF Holland; Stemco; and Hyundai Translead.

Based in Southfield, Michigan Clarience Technologies is the parent company to several leading brands that serve commercial transportation, including Truck-Lite, Road Ready advanced telematics, DAVCO filtration and ECCO safety systems.

Clarience Technologies is also launching a new technology alliance focused on trailer applications with Wabash, a partnership that will include new advanced connectivity applications that will be essential as electric and autonomous vehicles come to market. Road Ready advanced trailer telematics systems will become standard equipment on all Wabash dealer stock trailers.

Road Ready offers asset tracking capabilities for fleets at a variety of levels. Map View delivers simplified and detailed map views powered by Google Maps technology, while Asset/Trailer View allows customers to drill down to view an exact breadcrumb trail of one particular asset throughout its trip. Fleets can customize how often each fleet asset communicates its location status. Fleets can also set up custom landmarks to create geofences for established routes, triggering alerts to help fleets protect their assets and their customer’s cargo.
