Tire InflationRyder System announced Wednesday it is making Aperia’s Halo automatic tire inflation system standard for its heavy-duty rental fleet, as well as its ChoiceLease program and SelectCare program.

The two companies announced the partnership Wednesday at the North American Commercial Vehicle show.

The company has already deployed hundreds of tractors with the Halo system, says Scott Perry, Ryder’s Chief Technology and Procurement Officer. That number will grow as Ryder replenishes its fleet in the coming years, Perry says.

The Aperia Halo is a self-powered, self-contained unit that bolts on to the outside of tires. It uses the wheel’s rotation to maintain optimal tire pressure as a means to help maximize fuel economy and tire life.
