The founders of Coyote Logistics have launched a new cloud-based, cloud-delivered transportation management system designed to scale fleets.

Mastery Logistics Systems’ MasterMind TMS integrates systems, workflows and data into a single platform to help fleets boost brokerage efficiency, doubling shipment volume without increasing headcount; eliminate manual processes, saving dozens of hours per week on load building and execution; improve asset management with equipment visibility; and scale with AI-driven automation and optimization.

The journey started about six years ago, and the platform had assets moving on the system as of March 2024, with 60,000 transactions completed so far this year, said Mastery’s Chief Commercial Officer Danielle Prigge during the Truckload Carriers Association annual convention held in Phoenix this week.

“The industry was lacking a modern cloud-based TMS: cloud-based, cloud-native, cloud-delivered that can manage the entire lifecycle with as much automation as possible,” Prigge said.

The company has worked with some of the largest carriers in North America over that six years to develop workflows that traditional TMS platforms created through modules. Prigge said the company started with brokerage and asset and now plans to expand to smaller carriers later this year as well as expand its shipper-focused capabilities to optimize private and dedicated fleets.

The platform enables shippers to maximize fleet capacity alongside third-party carriers, track inbound and outbound freight in a single system, create carrier access through portals, cut administrative workload with automated workflows, and integrate with existing ERP systems for order management.

Prigge said Mastery saw the opportunity to expand to private fleets because they struggle with capturing data.

“A lot of these private fleets, they're not getting smaller, and they're looking to have more control, and they have to have visibility to all that capacity for the purposes of planning and executing and maintaining the cost models that they had budgeted for their bid cycles,” she said.

She said Mastery’s customers intend to migrate everything to the MasterMind TMS with the exception of their proprietary data, which can be fed in via API. The platform gives a customer’s “secret sauce” a landing place that's incorporated into a workflow so they can take action on it.

“We do not allow customization. We are a SaaS platform. It's one codebase deployed to all of our customers,” Prigge added. “Sitting next to the TMS is something that we have built called Minion, which is a configuration portal. That's where our customers can configure their specific workflows, their specific business rules that then govern how the operators are actually executing the system. For anything that falls outside of that as proprietary and they don't want it in the code base, it can be fed in so that those end users can either make decisions or they can automate using our API.”

And while it takes some years to migrate to a new system, she said as many as 1,400 trucks can be onboarded to MasterMind TMS in as little as five weeks.
