00:00 In this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts, we’ll take a look at a tech provider’s efforts to relieve AI bot fatigue for carriers, AI-powered trip building for LTL carriers, new and expanded AI agents and more.
00:23 Carrier Logistics (CLI) is working to solve a major industry problem where carrier customer service teams are overwhelmed by automated queries from 3PLs and shippers.
The freight management software provider is addressing the AI bot fatigue challenge in collaboration with LSP44, a provider of AI-native agent and API infrastructure for logistics service providers.
CLI and LSP44 are connecting 3PLs and shippers to motor carriers with a new AI-driven API. This enables them to:
- Identify a shipment even when the tracking number isn’t known, eliminating the need for intrusive emails and calls to carriers
- Rely on AI that matches known shipment properties to shipments in the TMS, resolving ambiguity automatically
- Avoid disruptive manual queries by using standard, non-intrusive APIs for tracking
- Provide more accurate data to customers, improving efficiency as the number of touchless shipments grows
01:19 European transportation management platform Dashdoc has expanded into the U.S. with the launch of Dashdoc Agents, a set of AI-powered tools that allows carriers and shippers to adapt their TMS to their own processes and priorities without relying on developers and without writing code.
Carriers and shippers define their rules directly in their TMS by describing what they want to automate through a chat interface with Dash, Dashdoc's AI assistant. Dash translates the request into a structured workflow, combining a trigger, conditions and actions. Once validated, users can review and activate it directly from the TMS, and the automation will run automatically whenever the defined conditions are met.
02:00 Netradyne has expanded its agent ecosystem. The driver safety and fleet management technology provider rolled out safety and operations agents this summer with plans to introduce additional agents later this year.
The company’s ready-made agents now include:
- Collision management agent, which handles incidents from first report to resolution
- Coaching agent, which helps managers guide drivers toward safer habits
- Campaign agent, which adds friendly competition to coaching by scoring and ranking drivers with daily standings based on the manager’s safety priorities
The company has also given fleets the ability to create customized agents based on their specific needs using plain language to describe what they want it to do and to have conversations on the Netradyne platform or in their AI tools to turn fleet intelligence into insights and actions and create recurring agents from what they learn.
02:54 Fleet management software provider Fleetworthy, has extended its Expedited Inspection solution to four states: California, Michigan, Vermont and Maine.
Available exclusively through Fleetworthy's Weigh Station Bypass solution, Expedited Inspection automates the secure transfer of fleet and vehicle data to enforcement and delivers a driver's Electronic Record of Duty Status (eRODS) directly to officers when a truck is selected for inspection.
Enforcement officers in Nevada, where Expedited Inspection was introduced in 2025, have reported that the solution has resulted in meaningful time savings at the roadside.
Sgt. Scott Keane of the Nevada Highway Patrol said, "With Expedited Inspection, we're easily saving about 15 minutes per inspection. That's time our officers get back to focus on enforcement and time drivers get back on the road."
As part of this expansion, Fleetworthy is also introducing Inspect Queue, a dedicated view of every truck flagged for inspection that allows officers to continue an inspection on a separate device.
03:53 CarriersEdge, a provider of online driver training for the trucking industry, has unveiled a new series of interactive driver training modules designed for situations where fleets need to address a specific skill or reinforce previous training without assigning a complete course.
The series is called Learning Bytes, and each module can be completed in less than 10 minutes while still providing interactive learning and knowledge checks, giving fleets a short-form training option without relying on passive video.
04:22 Trucking TMS provider PCS Software has expanded its LTL capabilities within Dispatch powered by Cortex, its AI-driven dispatch module. These are the new capabilities:
- Consolidation Workbench, which enables grouping of compatible loads into a single trip with live capacity guardrails for weight, cube and space
- Cortex Trip Builder, which offers AI-assembled trip proposals built against a carrier’s own constraints, with plain-English reasoning for every match, along with 3D trailer and route visualization
- Load Splitting, which allows a shipment to be split into multiple legs at terminals while preserving one record for the customer
- Revenue & Expense Allocation Engine, which offers carrier-defined formulas for splitting shared-trip revenue and cost, auditable per load
- AI-Recommended Rates, which offers rate matrices built from historical lane and cost data, with drift alerts when the market moves and a full contract rate packet generator
05:18 ACERTUS, an automotive logistics-as-a-service platform, is now offering the ACERTUS Fuel Card, powered by fleet payment solutions provider AtoB.
Carriers have two options: the fleet card, which offers a weekly credit line, or the cash card, a prepaid card that functions like a debit card. Both can be used for fuel and other vehicle-related expenses, including maintenance, tires and tools.
Discounts are available through the AtoB fuel discount network at more than 4,000 truck stops and 30,000 fuel stations nationwide. Cardholders save an average of 45 cents per gallon, with discounts of up to $2 per gallon and no cap on discounted gallons. Fleet managers can monitor fuel consumption and purchases in real time, and drivers can locate lower-cost fuel along their routes through the AtoB online portal and mobile app.
06:07 ShopView has launched AccountingHub for its heavy-duty repair shop management platform. The native accounting add-on gives independent truck, trailer, diesel and equipment repair shops the option to manage their books without transferring transactions into separate accounting software by connecting invoices, payments, purchases, deposits, fees and refunds directly to a general ledger through configurable account mappings.
For multi-location operators, AccountingHub provides consolidated financial statements alongside reporting by shop or class. Operators can compare effective labor rates, gross margins and financial performance across facilities without maintaining separate spreadsheets.
06:47 Transfix, a TMS provider for freight brokers and 3PLs, has integrated Lane Intelligence by freight platform Highway.
Highway’s capacity matching engine scores every qualified carrier against the origin and destination being priced. It looks for carriers that have posted trucks for the lane, have equipment near the origin or destination, or have run the lane before. Brokers can narrow results by equipment type, insurance minimums, safety rating and certifications.
Highway then ranks which carriers are best positioned to run a lane. Now, when a rep prices a lane, Transfix’s cost models display that ranking right next to the target buy rate so brokers can price freight and find vetted capacity to cover it in a single step.
07:30 Holman, a global automotive services provider, has a new partnership with autonomous yard solutions provider ISEE to give shared customers a simplified path to AV deployment.
Holman’s robot fleet management solution bundles hardware, data integration, management software and ongoing support into one service, and its upfitting capabilities allow businesses to upgrade existing yard vehicles with ISEE’s AI-powered autonomous driving technology. ISEE’s technology is designed to operate in congested and mixed traffic environments such as warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants and port terminals.
