00:00 In this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts, a vendor opens the door for small and mid-sized carriers to gain access to lower prices at the pump, and Trucker Path ranks major trucking corridors with fuel prices in mind, while other tech providers introduce new solutions.

00:27 TMS provider PCS Software has launched a new benefit program that delivers enterprise-level pricing and vendor partnerships to small and mid-sized carriers.

Called PCS Advantage, the program offers three benefits: negotiated diesel discounts at thousands of locations nationwide; a dedicated driver lead generation service that delivers qualified CDL-A driver and diesel technician applicants directly into their hiring pipeline; and pre-negotiated hotel rates across hundreds of thousands of properties.

00:58 Phillips Connect, a provider of smart trailer technology, has introduced TrailerSignal, a piece of hardware that mounts on the nose of a trailer and lights up green when the trailer is ready and amber when it’s not.

TrailerSignal draws its status from the Phillips Connect door, tire, light and liftgate smart trailer sensors and integrates with a fleet’s internal systems, so the light in the yard and the data in the back office tell the same story. Fleets choose which smart trailer signals feed the status, so the light reflects the conditions that matter most to their operation. The signal reads at a glance, eliminating the need to login to Connect1 or check a phone to know whether a trailer is ready.

The ruggedized, solar-powered light stays on while the trailer is parked, even when the trailer is disconnected from power, and turns off once it starts moving.

Additionally, the company has launched Phillips Connect Insights, which identifies specific, critical issues based on signal patterns and routes each one to the team that can fix it before it escalates into a bigger, costlier problem. Tires and lights are the first two categories of Insights available, detecting slow leaks and failing light circuits, respectively.

The company plans to extend Insights across its other smart trailer applications, so operations, safety and maintenance teams see prioritized issues in Connect1; drivers receive urgent tire alerts through DriverAssist; and technicians see what to address on each trailer through TechAssist. Insights also integrates with fleets’ existing maintenance and equipment systems to create service tickets.

02:28 U.S. I-94, I-90 and I-80 ranked among the highest-rated major trucking corridors in 2026. That’s according to popular driver app Trucker Path, which scored the corridors across three categories: parking availability, truck stop ratings and fuel prices. Included among the top 10 are I-35, I-15, I-40, I-44, I-20, I-70 and I-45.

02:55 Digital infrastructure solutions provider Velociti has rolled out its new Velogic dashboard, a redesigned portal that gives VeloCare customers a more streamlined way to view and manage technology support across their operations. VeloCare is Velociti’s proactive managed services program that provides real-time monitoring, technical support and repair services to help maximize technology uptime and minimize disruptions.

The new dashboard brings technology health, project and inventory information together in a single pane of glass for managing connected technology. It also introduces an AI agent that allows customers to interact directly with Velogic for quicker and easier access to and better understanding of information within the portal.

03:39 Platform Science has unveiled four new products in its PS Fleet app suite that enable fleets to identify operational problems earlier, scale safety coaching across large driver rosters, share delivery visibility with customers, and take direct control of in-cab video settings – all from the back office.

Available within PS Fleet Manager and integrated with a fleet’s existing dispatch software, PS Command Center provides dispatchers and fleet managers with a single dashboard that brings together dispatch status, dispatch progress, active driver hours of service, vehicles moving without a dispatch, and arrivals by location with drill-down into arrival variance and geofence status.

Part of PS Visual Intelligence, PS Coach gives safety managers a per-driver coaching inbox that surfaces unaddressed behaviors and lets them deliver self-guided coaching to the driver’s device or live through a coach-led session, phone call, text or in-person conversation.

PS Truck Tracker lets an authorized dispatcher generate a secure, self-expiring link that shows a single vehicle’s live location on a map, with no login, account or app required for the recipient. This gives customers and receiving docks real-time visibility to prepare for an arrival and cuts down on truck status calls to dispatchers, while offering delivery transparency without exposing a fleet’s route network or other vehicles.

And finally, Vehicle Settings for PS Visual Intelligence gives fleet administrators self-service control over safety event detection and driver privacy settings on their video devices – changes that previously required a request to Platform Science. Admins can tune sensitivity for risk detection and configure privacy controls.
