00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts looks at a new freight tracking technology, a tablet that wirelessly reads digital tire pressure and temperature, TriumphPay’s new partner and updates to McLeod Software’s platforms.
00:25 Freight tracking technology provider Trucker Tools has launched its Cold Chain Load Tracking, providing monitoring for temperature-sensitive shipments, including perishables like food and beverage, flowers, chemicals and medical products.
Key Features include:
Real-time, continuous temperature tracking from the moment a shipment is picked up until its delivery.
Customizable location and temperature alerts that notify users instantly if a shipment’s temperature deviates from the expected range.
Multi-Zone Trailer Tracking, which logs data with customizable temperature ranges for Zones 1, 2 and 3.
Accessible tracking interfaces that allow shippers and brokers to monitor their shipments through a web portal or through a direct integration within their TMS.
01:09 Doran Manufacturing, a provider of tire monitoring systems for off-road equipment and over-the-road truck fleets, has rolled out a new tablet that allows users to wirelessly read digital tire pressure and temperature during their walk around equipment inspections, accelerating the process of gathering tire pressure and temperature information while eliminating the likelihood for errors due to gauging or manually recording tire pressures.
Doran 360 SmartLink TPMS Tablet is an Android-based device that communicates wirelessly with Doran 360OTR tire pressure sensors and other Doran OTR SmartLink solutions. Individual tire pressure sensors can be scanned to transmit current tire pressure and temperature data. Doran SmartLink OTR TPMS products will actively receive, store, and transmit data to the SmartLink OTR TPMS tablet by unit number. One-Click functionality allows the user to download all the current tire pressure and temperature information for every tire on a vehicle by tapping an icon on the screen. The collected TPMS data can be saved to the tablet by date, time and unit number and uploaded as an Excel file to better organize and streamline tire inflation recordkeeping.
02:24 ArcBest, which offers one of the largest freight brokerages in North America, has joined transportation industry payments network TriumphPay, a secure network for presentment, audit and payment of transportation invoices.
With this partnership, ArcBest aims to better serve carriers, improve operational efficiency and enhance payment security.
ArcBest Chief Commercial Officer and President of asset-light logistics (Steven Leonard) said, “Carriers depend on us to pay them quickly and efficiently, and TriumphPay’s payment system enables us to meet these expectations. Providing enhanced visibility into payment status and a faster, more secure payment process strengthens our position as a preferred partner for carriers in our network.”
03:07 McLeod Software, a TMS for freight brokers and carriers, has released updates to its LoadMaster and PowerBroker//web platforms.
These are some of the updates:
An Enhanced SMS Text Messaging Module, allowing users to schedule texts to carrier drivers at specific times or throughout the order’s lifecycle that enables brokers to receive drivers’ coordinates automatically at request.
Brokerage planning screen improvements that allow brokers to monitor and assign tasks more effectively.
The Lane History page now offers real-time analytics and new filter options for refined results.
Support of multi-currency operations, simplifying transactions in various currencies and expediting operations involving Canadian and Mexican logistics.
A one-click quote generation feature that uses the distance and rate calculator to eliminate duplicate entries.
The Tender Express page now provides a more efficient workflow with improved task filters and notifications, while the tools for monitoring shipment status have been redesigned for a more intuitive user experience.
DocumentPower now has enhanced image handling capabilities, allowing users to view and upload images more efficiently and offering better visibility for customer and carrier master file images.
Driver Sidekick, McLeod’s mobile application for drivers, offers new features such as Swipe to Dispatch for easy task management and Trimble Maps for precise commercial routing.
The Driver Scorecard module now integrates seamlessly with LoadMaster, giving drivers valuable insights into their performance.
LoadMaster LTL has also seen notable enhancements, including the introduction of electronic proof of delivery (ePOD), which allows users to capture digital signatures and photos upon delivery, removing the need for paper receipts and manual processes.
