00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts showcases a one-time install asset tracker, a new suite of digital payment solutions for carriers, a new collision avoidance app and more.

00:23 Fleet software provider Teletrac Navman has unveiled significant updates to its asset tracker portfolio, with the launch of one-time install devices that include new indoor tracking capability for real-time location visibility.

The asset trackers, designed for indoor and outdoor equipment, offer a ten-year battery life that minimizes disruption, lowers maintenance costs and addresses the challenges of managing assets across various locations. Teletrac Navman’s AI powered TN360 and TN360 ACM platforms will provide a single-pane-of-glass view for real-time asset location.

New features of the trackers include up to 10 years of battery life; high-accuracy indoor and outdoor tracking for improved real-time asset location management; 4G network recognition with 2G cellular fallback to ensure connectivity in the most remote areas across the globe; a theft recovery mode; durable housing rated to withstand the harshest of environments; and self-installation.

01:21 MiKargo247, an all-mode Insurtech platform for one-way, spot cargo insurance, has a new underwriting partner that effectively expands the company on a global basis beyond trucking insurance.

This partnership with Falvey Insurance Group enables the insurtech to now offer motor carriers, freight brokers, freight forwarders and shippers increased transit mode options, higher policy limits, expanded commodity approval and a more streamlined process.

Transit mode options now include air, ocean and cross-border Mexico. Higher policy limits include truckload raised to $2 million and cross-border raised to $1 million. The expanded list of approved commodities includes laptops, tablets, mobile phones and more. And its new streamlined process has reduced the number of required fields, enabling quicker access to instant quotes and purchases without the need for sign-ups, pre-approvals or subscriptions.

02:17 Global logistics provider C.H. Robinson has launched C.H Robinson Financial, which is a new suite of digital payment solutions that aims to increase the speed of cash flow for carriers.

Carriers often face cash flow challenges due to 30- to 90-day payment terms, leaving them waiting weeks for funds needed to cover essential expenses like fuel, maintenance, and payroll.

Triumph Financial Inc. has designed a new factoring solution for carriers within C.H. Robinson’s more than 450,000 contract carrier network. Factoring, powered by Delta, a new service offering from Triumph designed first for C.H. Robinson, gives carriers immediate access to funds 24/7 for unpaid invoices and manages payment collection directly from customers.

Through Triumph’s digital bank account solution, LoadPay, carriers can receive payment on approved invoices within minutes without a transfer fee. The digital bank account also includes a debit card and detailed invoice and payment tracking for full transparency across the payment lifecycle.

03:18 Low-clearance mitigation platform, GiraffeG4 Sentinel System, has rolled out a new app designed specifically for trucks and RVs to help drivers avoid costly accidents with low bridges, trestles and other height-restricted hazards.

The app offers real-time height detection and GPS integration, backed by a comprehensive database of over 12,000 low-clearance hazardous locations across the U.S. and Canada. Designed to complement existing navigation tools, the G4 Sentinel app provides drivers with audible alerts and hazard warnings 100 yards before they reach a potential obstacle.

Unlike traditional navigation apps that focus on route planning, the G4 Sentinel System prioritizes collision prevention and works alongside any navigation app to provide a dedicated layer of protection against height-related accidents.

Fleets can utilize the app to create custom databases of low-clearance locations specific to their routes, including parking garages and delivery areas that lack signage.
