00:00 In this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts, we’ll take a look at an AI-powered vehicle inspection system, a feature that enables carriers to accept multiple partial shipments and more.

00:21 AI-powered vehicle inspection systems provider Uveye (UV eye) has expanded its automated inspection systems to support commercial fleets, including Class 6–8 trucks and buses. Specifically engineered for the trucking and bus sector, this new heavy-duty platform is compliant with CTP AT17 requirements across the U.S. and UK, enabling an automated 17-point inspection process.

The new platform uses Uveye’s AI-powered drive-thru scanners – called the MRI for vehicles – to perform a complete 360° scan of heavy-duty vehicles in seconds, detecting external or mechanical flaws and identifying damages, modifications, or foreign objects under and around the vehicle. Every inspection generates a sharable digital report with annotated images.

01:12 Oway, and AI provider that enables carriers to automatically fill their live unused capacity on headhauls, has unveiled a new feature.

The Automatic Multi-Pick feature allows carriers to accept multiple partial shipments from as little as one pallet and up to 12 pallets, and it’s automatically matched to their available live capacity during daily hauls.

Powered by dynamic AI schedule modeling, predictive algorithms, and live traffic data, Oway’s AI can add multiple low-friction shipments into existing FTL routes, each stop requiring only 15 minutes on average to load. Carriers receive instant, pre-priced offers aligned to their ELD schedules or API geolocation data, reducing unused capacity on both headhauls and backhauls.

On average, carriers using Oway’s AI increase net revenues per lane by up to 30% without impacting existing delivery commitments. The feature supports cross-country, mid-mile and last-mile runs and is available to integrate directly into major fleet management systems (FMS).

02:16 Queclink Wireless Solutions, a global provider of IoT devices and hardware, has launched its smallest-ever GPS location device.

The GL30 possesses a compact and rugged design, multi-network connectivity, and enhanced location capabilities, making it ideal for the monitoring of material handling assets and high-value cargo.

The micro tracker measures 60 × 31.7 × 19.66mm, weighs 27.6g, and has an IP67 waterproof rating for use in harsh environments. It uses LTE Cat M1/NB2 technology with 2G fallback and cellular base positioning for accurate and timely location updates both indoors and outside. Wi-Fi scanning detects when the device is near a known network and switches to power-saving mode, while BLE 5.2 connectivity means it can pair with beacons for asset management or accessory integration.

The GL30 has flexible reporting and power modes that maximize battery-life, and advanced motion detection and geozoning allow for monitoring of work patterns, resource management and configurable safety alerts.

The first is TMS Financials, which enables shippers to manage the full order-to-cash journey inside the TMS, cutting dispute resolution times by up to 20% and giving teams sharper visibility and control of freight spend.

The second is Scenario Analysis in Uber Freight Exchange. This new feature allows logistics teams to instantly compare procurement strategies across cost, service, and carrier mix in just a few clicks. It has helped teams trim a weeks-long manual process down to hours.

Agentic AI in Action is the third new feature. Uber Freight said dozens of AI agents are delivering measurable results. From cutting scheduling times by 38%, to reducing overdue load statuses by 15% and automatically correcting shipment data errors for more accurate ETAs, it is helping shippers lower costs, reduce delays, and free up teams to focus on exceptions and strategy.
