00:00 Highlighted in this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts is a new integration that aims to help LTL carriers with insurance claims, Drivewyze’s latest state partnership and more.

00:22 Carrier Logistics Inc. (CLI), a freight management software provider for less-than-truckload carriers, has integrated with FreightClaims.com to offer a seamless claims process with CLI’s FACTS transportation management solution. This enables streamlined claims processing and improved recovery rates through automated document scanning, real-time tracking, and claims entry directly within the existing FACTS workflow.

Claims management has become increasingly complex for freight carriers, with rejection rates climbing above 50% industry-wide. Incomplete or inaccurate documentation, missed filing deadlines, and manual processing errors are the primary causes. FACTS claim processing directly addresses these operational areas by allowing users to manage claims without switching between systems.

01:08 A new independent study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) has validated that Nauto’s AI-powered Predictive Risk Fusion not only detects risky driving situations but also predicts them, providing distracted drivers with extra time to avoid collisions.

These are some key findings from the study:

            • An up to 90% in-cab alert success rate for distracted driving scenarios when approaching a target

            • 87% of alerts in distracted driving scenarios delivered prior to the swerve zone to help drivers avoid a collision

            • And 10% faster alert speed to prevent a collision with a stationary target when the driver was distracted

Nauto’s technology simultaneously monitors driver behavior and external road risks in real time – an approach that has helped fleets reduce collision losses by up to 80% across more than six billion AI-analyzed miles.

02:00 Louisiana has become the latest state to offer sudden slowdown alerts and a virtual sign network to commercial drivers through Drivewyze by Fleetworthy’s Smart Roadways product. The alerts are sent through electronic logging devices, tablets, and smartphones, and are available free of charge through Drivewyze Free.

Sudden slowdown and congestion alerts are provided in partnership with INRIX, which utilizes advanced algorithms to analyze traffic patterns from millions of anonymously connected vehicles traveling over a billion miles daily in the U.S. Drivers receive alerts such as “Sudden Slowdown Ahead” and “Congestion Ahead” two to three miles before congestion begins, giving them time to safely adjust their speed.

Using the Smart Roadways virtual sign messaging service, the Department of Transportation & Development can communicate real-time safety alerts to commercial drivers at specific geo-fenced locations. These custom messages can warn drivers about upcoming work zones, detours, lane restrictions, or hazardous conditions.
