Navistar announced recently it is recalling approximately 209 severe service trucks over an issue with the steer axle hubs, according to documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall affects model year 2020 International HV trucks. Navistar says the steer axle hubs may be insufficiently lubricated or not lubricated at all, which could cause wheel bearing damage. Wheel bearing damage could cause the wheel to separate from the front axle spindle.

Navistar has notified owners of affected trucks, and dealers will inspect the steer axle wheel hubs for the proper fluid level and repair any damaged components for free.

Owners can contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 with recall number 19509. NHTSA’s recall number is 19V-422.
