Driver Shifting Gears

Motor carriers have deprioritized a shortage of truck drivers, but getting and keeping qualified safe drivers remains a top 10 issue for them, according to the American Transportation Research Institute's (ATRI) 21st annual Top Industry Issues report.

The cost of replacing a truck driver (accounting for truck downtime, training a new driver, and allocating support staff) exceeds $10,000, according to many industry analysts. Thus, it makes sense for fleet managers to dive deep into the insights of what drivers like (and loathe) about their jobs.

In conjunction with Netradyne, CCJ will host a complimentary webinar on Dec. 4 at 1 p.m. CT with fleet leaders to discuss the tactics they deploy to keep drivers happy, engaged, and on the company payroll.

The discussion is born from CCJ's 2025 What Drivers Want report – a survey of company drivers and leased owner-operators who shared their thoughts on pay, benefits, equipment, technology, why they would leave a motor carrier, and much more.

All registered attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the What Drivers Want Report courtesy of CCJ and Netradyne.
