Zonar Systems, a provider of electronic vehicle inspection tools and telematics solutions, has named Andrew Lee director of sales. Lee will guide efforts to identify and develop new business and technology partnerships in the growing field of vehicle telematics, including asset tracking and wireless communication. He also is responsible for expanding the company’s presence in markets that require verified visual inspections of mobile and stationary assets, such as commercial trucks, school buses, transit vehicles and construction equipment.

Zonar Systems’ flagship product, the Electronic Vehicle Inspection Reports (EVIR) system, uses RFID, GPS, wireless communication and Web-based applications to capture, communicate and analyze information about a vehicle’s condition. The company says the paperless inspection system is the only verified visual inspection tool in the transportation market.

“Andrew has 25-plus years of high-technology sales and business development expertise, and strong relationships within the transportation and technology communities,” says Brett Brinton, general manager for Seattle-based Zonar Systems. “He is an ideal choice to help cement our leadership in advanced vehicle inspection solutions, as well as fuel growth in new, related markets.”

Prior to joining Zonar Systems, Lee was a partner with Paladin Partners, a Seattle-area consulting firm, where he was responsible for helping startup companies develop sales and business strategies. Previously, Lee was vice president of sales for Microvision, a global supplier of precision scanning and imaging technology. He built a strong track record for identifying and capturing new business in the transportation, aerospace, defense, retail and medical sectors. At Seattle-based AEI Music Network, Lee led a team that doubled a 10-year-old business in two years.
