Cadec Global, a provider of advanced fleet management solutions, announced that Nikolaus Tank Lines Inc. has purchased and is implementing Cadec’s Mobius TTS software and Series 100 On-Board Computers (OBCs) to extend its supply chain management efforts into the cabs of all 24 trucks in its fleet.
Nikolaus Tank Lines says it chose Cadec primarily for its e-logging capabilities and for the tight integration it offers with petroleum supply-chain software vendor TelaPoint. Cadec says that with TelaPoint, it will enable Nikolaus Tank Lines to:
“We’re really excited about going paperless – we believe it will improve the accuracy of the data we used to track by paper, while saving our drivers and dispatchers a lot of time,” says Dave Palmer, vice president and general manager of Nikolaus Tank Lines, based in Bakersfield, Calif. “We estimate that e-logs alone will save Nikolaus Tank Lines approximately $60,000 annually. With Cadec, we’ll also be able to start tracking truck location and driver behaviors such as speeding, idling and out-of-route driving in real time, and expect that to lead to more savings and, more importantly, further improve safety in our fleet.”
