EBE Technologies, a provider of business process management solutions for the transportation industry, announced the release of Carrier CSI, a comprehensive carrier qualification and safety solution. Through integrated workflows, contract creation, and interfaces with FMCSA and other safety and financial websites, the process of qualifying and managing the required paperwork and information necessary to do business is streamlined – improving accuracy and reducing time spent qualifying and contracting carriers, the company says.

With Carrier CSI, carriers fill out a qualification web form located on the logistics company’s website. Through dynamic interfaces with web portals such as FMCSA and Dun & Bradstreet, CSI gathers qualification data and incorporates the information into an overall carrier qualification score. As the qualification form is completed, the overall carrier qualification score is determined from data such as lanes serviced, equipment type, safety and financial scores. Qualification standards are completely configurable to the logistics companies’ specific categories of measurement.

Once the carrier is processed through the qualification workflow, the carrier is classified by qualification score. For positively ranked carriers, CSI creates a carrier contract and pre-populates static data – such as carrier name, address, and contact information – that was gathered during the application process or contained in the FMCSA database. CSI also creates and pre-populates carrier packets and the associated paperwork. Barcodes are created to identify the paperwork and provides an automatic index function. A carrier code cannot be created until all required paperwork is inventoried in workflow. Disqualified carriers are automatically sent a rejection letter via fax or email, depending on their preferred contact method.

“Carrier CSI was developed to fill a void for logistics companies and carriers providing logistics services. Its ability to create, monitor, retrieve, analyze and take action on relevant carrier information offers logistics providers an extra layer of confidence when on-boarding and managing carriers,” said Larry Kerr, President, EBE Technologies.

Carrier CSI’s integration capabilities to most logistics and carrier dispatch systems allows it to pass the carrier packet, including data and access to documents, to these systems eliminating the need to re-key data. The system will also monitor carriers in the dispatch system on a pre-determined timeframe for re-qualification and carrier status updates, EBE says.
