PHH Arval announced the launch of a new mobile application designed to increase the productivity and satisfaction of its clients’ fleet drivers. PHH’s mobile application is installed on fleet drivers’ Blackberry devices and accessed through a PHH icon. Using the application, drivers have immediate access to various PHH services and call centers, including help with accidents, maintenance and other transactions, according to the company.

If the application initiates a call to a PHH agent, the agent automatically has pertinent information about the driver and the vehicle, eliminating the need for the driver to provide a vehicle unit number, driver ID or service card number, the company says; subsequent phases of the app will include additional functionality and make it available on other wireless devices.

PHH Arval says this is an example of new applications being developed by its Innovation Center technology experts who scan the broader technology horizon for new technologies that might solve a problem for a driver or fleet manager. They specialize in rapid prototyping and piloting of the next generation of innovative fleet applications, according to the company.

“This first-to-market mobile application is just the beginning of a new wave of technology advances we have planned,” says David Zuidema, chief information officer of Sparks, Md.-based PHH Arval, a subsidiary of PHH Corp. “PHH is focused on investing in technology and developing the new ideas that deliver effortless driver and vehicle productivity.”
