Christopher Gardner, whose life story was the inspiration for the film “The Pursuit of Happyness,” will talk about the keys to overcoming obstacles as the keynote speaker at the NationaLease 65th Annual Meeting on Oct. 4 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Fla. Gardner — who is owner and chief executive officer of Gardner Rich LLC, an institutional brokerage firm based in Chicago — will speak on the first day of the Oct. 4-5 event.

“We’re proud to bring Christopher Gardner to motivate and inspire our members,” says Gene Scoggins, president of Cherry Hill, N.J.-based NationaLease, a full-service truck leasing organization. “His message of overcoming obstacles, breaking cycles and helping others achieve their full potential comes at the right time, as we all face a tough business environment. NationaLease is an organization of entrepreneurs, owners of independent truck leasing companies in the United States and Canada. So his philosophy of life, one that says you can chart your own path and attain whatever goals you set for yourself, rings true to our members.”
