The California Air Resources Board has settled with Riverside-based RDO Equipment Co. on a $15,000 penalty for failing to self-inspect its diesel trucks properly to assure they meet state smoke emissions standards.

CARB says the violations occurred during 2008 and 2009 when RDO neglected to test, measure, record and maintain emissions records from its heavy-duty fleet.
