Rand McNally has coupled its IntelliRoute TND in-cab GPS navigation device with a new fleet dispatch messaging and management system called TrueTrack.

With TrueTrack, RandMcNally utilizes the IntelliRoute TND navigation device in the cab and a separate tracking device called TrueTrack Connector to relay information to secure servers via wireless networks. Fleets retrieve the data via the Internet using the TrueTrack Fleet Manager program.

TrueTrack enables fleet managers to track vehicles and monitor driver performance and compliance in areas such as speeding, drive time, idle time, arrivals and departures, the company says. Besides displaying real-time information and reports, TrueTrack allows messaging to be sent back to the vehicle. The driver can read and send messages through the TND display.

With real-time information communicated from the TrueTrack Connector, TrueTrack Fleet Manager provides a current view of each vehicle’s activities as well as a suite of pre-set reports, historical views and office/truck messaging and navigation options, the company says.

Rand McNally is offering TrueTrack with affordable, monthly subscription pricing based on the number of trucks a fleet operates, says Amy Krouse, director of public relations.
