Arkansas Best names Newcity CFO

Arkansas Best Corp. announced that Michael E. Newcity has been promoted to chief financial officer effective June 1. Newcity currently is director of economic analysis for Arkansas Best and leads a group that provides critical analysis on topics including costing and profitability methods, incentive systems, business metrics and forecasting.

Previously, Newcity held a variety of positions at ABF Freight System Inc. and Data-Tronics Corp., both Arkansas Best subsidiaries. During this time, he was instrumental in the development and implementation of internal management systems as well as numerous Internet-based customer-facing solutions. He began his career with the corporation in 1993.
