As part of the Tennessee Trucking Association’s annual Safety Break, America’s Road Team will bring the American Trucking Associations’ high-tech Image Trailer to a Nickajack Lake, Tenn. area rest stop. Captains will be on hand to share with motorists their years of million mile accident-free driving.

The high-tech truck will be set up at the rest stop on I-24 eastbound July 2 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, where Captains and representatives of the Tennessee Trucking Association will hand out refreshments to motorists who stop. America’s Road Team Captains will also discuss safe passing techniques, the correct way to merge around a truck and safe following distances.

“It’s great to be out talking to the motorists who stop at the rest areas,” said Frank Silio, a professional truck driver for Covenant Transportation. “My company is based in the area, and I travel the entire country on roads just like these. By interacting with the public at this event, I think we can make a difference and save lives.”

America’s Road Team Captain Frank Silio (Covenant Transportation) will bring his 1.7 million miles of accident-free driving experience to the event. He is a member of an elite team of million-mile, accident-free truck drivers who deliver the trucking industry’s safety message across the country.

The America’s Road Team, sponsored by Volvo Trucks North America, is a national public outreach program led by a small group of professional truck drivers who share superior driving skills, remarkable safety records and a strong desire to spread the word about safety on the highway.
