SelecTrucks, a network of used truck retailers in the United States and Canada, is offering customers a $50 gift card to test-drive a qualifying vehicle equipped with a Fuller UltraShift or AutoShift 10-speed automated transmission. Through this newest promotion, SelecTrucks has also partnered with Eaton Corp. to provide a manufacturer-backed extended warranty on eligible vehicles.

The Roadranger Extended Warranty will cover the mechanical and electrical components on qualifying vehicles with UltraShift or AutoShift automated transmissions for up to one year or 100,000 miles following the retail sale. In addition, Daimler Truck Financial will defer qualifying customers’ first loan payment for up to 60 days; payment deferral is offered exclusively through Daimler Truck Financial on qualified vehicles with varying term lengths based on eligibility.

The $50 test-drive promotion will be available in participating U.S. SelecTrucks Center retail locations until Dec. 31. Eligible vehicles include 2005-2007 Freightliner Century Class S/T models with various specs and mileage ranges. Customers should contact their local SelecTrucks Center to learn more about the specific trucks available for the $50 test-drive offer.

“We wanted to give our customers the opportunity to experience the benefits of Eaton automated transmissions firsthand,” says Gary Wingate, manager of marketing and customer support for Daimler Trucks Remarketing Corp. “With their improved efficiency, performance and safety, automated transmissions offer driver control and comfort, and greater reliability. By partnering with both Eaton and Daimler Truck Financial we’re able to support our customers further with an optional extended warranty and 60-day payment deferral.”

Interested customers will be asked to complete a pre- and post-test drive survey to review their perceptions of the Fuller UltraShift or AutoShift 10-speed automated transmission. Following the test drive, the customer’s gift card will be activated.

“Eaton’s automated transmissions are based on industry-proven and preferred Fuller manual transmission technology,” says Staci Kroon, senior vice president and general manager for Eaton’s Commercial Vehicle Transmission business. “We are partnering with SelecTrucks to enable second owners to experience the features and advantages of our automated transmissions.”
