Stemco announced that it has formed an investment-based strategic alliance with Gaff International to provide high-performance polyurethane suspension components to the commercial vehicle market in the United States and Canada, reporting through the Stemco Kaiser suspension component group based in Millington, Mich.

Gaff International, based in Mexico City, Mexico, provides bushings, engine supports, torque rods and components for many applications for both the OEM and replacement markets. Stemco Kaiser provides kingpin and springpin kits.

“This partnership with Gaff will help us provide additional high-value solutions to our customers,” says Todd Anderson, Stemco Kaiser vice president and general manager. “Stemco Gaff is a long-term strategic alliance that expands our suspension product portfolio. These high-performance components benefit the commercial vehicle industry with longer life while reducing total lifecycle maintenance costs.”

Under the alliance, Gaff will transfer all distribution of its products in the United States and Canada exclusively to Stemco Kaiser, while Stemco Kaiser will provide an investment in Gaff. The alliance will utilize Stemco’s 45-member fleet-based technical sales team to assist customers with the repair and selection of polyurethane products appropriate to their needs. The sales team also will provide onsite training to maximize both the life of the components and vehicle safety.

“This alliance combines Gaff’s great product technology with Stemco’s precision training to improve the performance of customers’ equipment while lowering their total operating costs,” says Jon Cox, Stemco president. “We are very excited to enter into this relationship with Gaff. We are committed to the long-term success of this relationship, and we look forward to exploring other opportunities to expand it in the future.”
