OEConnection, an online parts and service exchange for the automotive industry, announced that it has been recognized as one of the top 99 workplaces in Northeast Ohio. This marks the seventh consecutive year that OEConnection has received the NorthCoast 99 award. The annual recognition program was developed and is presented by the Employers Resource Council (ERC) – Northeast Ohio’s leading and largest professional organization dedicated to HR practices, programs and services.

“We are honored to earn the NorthCoast 99 distinction once again,” says Charles Rotuno, president and chief executive officer of OEConnection. “It is especially meaningful as we celebrate our company’s 10th anniversary. OEConnection was founded on the belief that employee engagement is key to building a financially healthy and growth-oriented business. It’s rewarding to know that our talented associates, who contribute greatly to our success, feel challenged in their work environment.”

Since 1999, NorthCoast 99 has been recognizing leading workplaces for top talent in Northeast Ohio. Winning organizations have demonstrated that they excel in the attraction, retention and motivation of top performers by maintaining a culture and a foundation of organizational policies and practices that are designed to support the needs of these employees. According to ERC, research shows that top workplaces correlate with top financial performance and provide a competitive advantage in recruiting top performers. In other words, they contend, attracting and retaining top talent leads to greater innovation and business success.

The NorthCoast 99 competition process is unique in that it seeks nominations from associates throughout the region rather than directly from the organizations. Nominated organizations then complete a detailed description of their programs, policies and benefits. Organizations also select a group of top performers, between 5 and 20 people depending on company size, who complete an online survey that measures their engagement with the organization. ERC then compiles this information from the winning organizations into a comprehensive report and shares it with participating organizations as a guidebook on the region’s most successful practices.

OEConnection and the other NorthCoast 99 finalists recently were celebrated at a banquet ceremony sponsored by ERC at LaCentre Conference & Banquet Facility in Westlake, Ohio.
