Menlo Worldwide names Chan managing director for South Asia

Menlo Worldwide Logistics, the global logistics subsidiary of Con-way Inc., announced that Desmond Chan has been promoted to the position of managing director for South Asia. In his new role, Chan will be responsible for overall business performance and growth in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Australia.

“Desmond is a respected and seasoned manager who brings some 22 years of broad-ranging industry experience – including five years at Menlo – to his new position,” says Robert Bianco Jr., president of Menlo Worldwide Logistics. “His expertise complements our strategic plans for this region, and we are confident that his leadership and market insight will drive successful growth throughout this key sector.”

Chan, who joined Menlo in 2005, was formerly Menlo’s South Asia director of operations. He came to Menlo following five years at FedEx Express, where he worked in roles including Asia marketing manager and South Pacific regional manager. Previously, he had served as acting general manager for China and senior operations manager for FedEx Logistics, as well as general manager of the logistics subsidiary of Pacific International Lines. Chan is based in Singapore.
