Freight matching provider Internet Truckstop and Instructional Technologies Inc., a provider of interactive computer-based driver training, announced that they are collaborating to provide the Pro-Tread Training Series through to owner-operators and small trucking companies. ITI’s Web-based interactive Pro-Tread training will increase driver efficiency and productivity by enabling drivers to complete safety, regulatory and hazardous materials (hazmat) training during periods of nondriving downtime via in-cab multimedia devices.

“Offering outstanding products and business opportunities to the customers of Internet Truckstop has always been our mission,” says Leigh Foxall, director of national accounts for Internet Truckstop. “Often times, owner-operators and small trucking companies can’t compete with large transportation companies simply because their drivers don’t have the same access to great training. Now, the Pro-Tread training modules will be offered to our customers, allowing them access to training either in the cab of their truck or while at home – training which could help to prevent accidents before they happen and decrease the company’s liability.” said Foxall. “By collaborating with ITI to include their solution at, we can now offer our customers a more efficient training solution.”

“We are very excited to be working with Internet Truckstop, as they have enormous access to companies and drivers,” says Jim Voorhees, ITI chief executive officer. “Their site and offerings are an incredible resource for our industry. The advent of CSA will open small trucking fleets to the same level of DOT inspections that larger fleets have been having for many years. Pro-Tread training will help prepare drivers at small fleets to meet the expected inspections.”
