Kenworth now offers a new brochure on its T440, which is designed to provide heavy-duty performance in more demanding medium-duty applications such as regional haul, pickup and delivery, municipal and vocational. The new brochure is available from Kenworth dealers in the United States and Canada, or as an electronic .pdf file for download at www.kenworth.com/6100_pre_mor.asp?file=2622.

The six-page brochure offers comprehensive product information, including a full page with detailed specifications for axles, battery boxes, brakes, bumpers, cab, engines, exhaust options, frame, fuel tanks, hood, interior, starting and charging, suspension, transmissions, wheels and tires, and special equipment and options.

Available as a straight truck or tractor in gross vehicle weight ranging from 33,000 to 68,000 lbs., the aerodynamic T440 is designed for maneuverability and ergonomics, and features a fuel-efficient powertrain. The T440 is standard with the Paccar PX-8 engine rated at 350 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. Optional engine choices are the Cummins ISL engine rated at 380 hp and 1,300 lb-ft of torque, and the Cummins ISL G natural gas engine rated at 320 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. Axle ratings are from 12,000 to 22,000 lbs. (front), 21,000 to 30,000 lbs. (single rear) and 40,000 to 46,000 lbs. (dual rear).

The T440, available with a variety of manual and automatic transmissions, is standard in a daycab configuration and optional with the Extended Day Cab and 38-inch AeroCab sleeper. The T440 also can be ordered with an air ride cab, factory-installed power take-off (PTO) and one lift axle. Clean frame rails and an exhaust-free back of cab are designed to clear the way for quick, efficient installation of a wide range of bodies and chassis-mounted equipment.
