In order to provide dealers and current and potential customers up-to-date product information, Freightliner Trucks has launched its Really Simple Syndication (RSS) online feed, an XML-based format designed to enable immediate content distribution to anyone who chooses to receive it. Freightliner Trucks says it developed an RSS application so technical information, new product features and options and dealer information can be routinely and automatically sent to those who subscribe.

“Freightliner Trucks was interested in providing Internet users a simpler way of receiving pertinent new product information,” says David Hames, general manager of marketing and strategy for Daimler Trucks North America. “The RSS feed will allow us to post product updates and technical information to our website, as well as enable readers to receive the content in real time.

To subscribe to the Freightliner Trucks RSS feed, go to www.freightlinertrucks.com and click on the Inside Freightliner tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page. Click on New Product News, and the RSS icon will be on the right side of the page. Click on the icon to subscribe. Upon completion, the user automatically will receive articles, technical information, photos and graphics as they are uploaded to the website. Content will be classified as either on-highway or vocational, but subscribers to the RSS feed will receive both.
