Echo Global Logistics announced that it has launched FlexTMS, a self-service transportation management system. FlexTMS is an “a-la-carte” software-as-a-service TMS with integrated managed services designed to provide shippers with a customized cost-effective solution for their logistics needs. It offers clients a standard solution that includes routing guide management, automated load entry, tendering and acceptance, load visibility with customized reporting and analytics complemented by industry experts to assist with freight management.

“Echo provides cost-effective transportation management services for thousands of clients through an outsourcing model by leveraging our technology, purchasing power and expertise,” says Douglas Waggoner, chief executive officer. “FlexTMS enables our clients to utilize Echo’s technology and service model while maintaining control over the procurement process. Our FlexTMS solution will automate time-consuming processes for clients and provide greater visibility to the entire transportation management function while allowing them to continue their existing carrier relationships.”

Echo Global says the self-service cloud-based TMS gives these shippers advanced functionality without the large capital investment necessary to acquire and implement their own software. Users have access to experts in the transportation industry in addition to a Web-based portal that is tailored to their specific needs.

“We feel that this product will help expand Echo’s reach to an untapped market and bring our company to the next level,” Waggoner says. “Echo is committed to listening to the marketplace and delivering world-class solutions.”
