ALK Technologies Inc. announced that it has joined the Manhattan Value Partners (MVP) program of its longstanding business partner Manhattan Associates, a provider of supply chain optimization solutions. ALK’s PC Miler routing, mileage, and mapping software is integrated with the Transportation Planning & Execution and Carrier Solutions, found in Manhattan Associates’ Transportation Lifecycle Management solution suite.

“ALK Technologies and Manhattan Associates have provided integrated solutions to shippers and carriers for more than 20 years,” says Craig Fiander, vice president of marketing for PC Miler Solutions. “I am confident that our customers will benefit immediately by the steps we have taken to formalize and strengthen this strategic alliance.”

Transportation Planning & Execution is a Web-based solution used by shippers for strategic capacity planning, dynamic optimization and execution of shipments, and end-to-end visibility of all shipping activities. Manhattan’s Carrier Solutions are used by motor carriers to optimize load planning, routing and profitability analysis.

According to the companies, Fuel&Route is an example of a Carrier Solution that integrates with PC Miler. By using the real-time toll cost data, truck-specific routing and industry-standard mileages of PC Miler, Fuel&Route calculates the true total cost of dispatch and optimizes the daily route and fuel purchase plans for drivers, complete with turn-by-turn directions.

“As an MVP partner, the level of support and integration with PC Miler will deepen and further complement our supply chain solutions,” says Jeff Cashman, senior vice president of business development at Manhattan Associates. “Customers will experience a more collaborative solution that will help them meet their supply chain initiatives.”

According to the companies, customers will experience an accelerated integration of new releases through this formalized relationship, reducing complexity and the amount of time for deployment, which in turn will reduce the time to realized savings through optimization. Customers also will see enhanced support through a formalized collaborative program, the companies say.
