NATSO announced the appointment of Darren Schulte as the association’s new vice president of membership, where he will work alongside Pamela Hayes, NATSO vice president of strategic partnerships, to develop and enhance products and services in the areas of education, research and training for truckstop and travel plaza operators. Schulte also will be responsible for member recruitment and retention, as well as soliciting truckstop and travel plaza participation in NATSO events and programs.

Schulte joins NATSO with nearly three decades of experience in truckstop and travel plaza operations and merchandising, most recently as vice president for retail merchandising for TSC Global/Barjan. Prior to that, Schulte also worked for Petro Stopping Centers and Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores.

“Darren brings a wealth of knowledge about the truckstop and travel plaza industry,” says Lisa Mullings, NATSO president and chief executive officer. “Combined with his retail merchandising, marketing and operations experience, Darren will be a valuable asset as we work to provide our members with new resources and educational opportunities. We are thrilled to have Darren on board and welcome him to NATSO.”
